Our runners are versatile. One side celebrates the craftsmanship of indigo, the sacred plant of Guizhou, the other side reveals the beauty of shuliang, a Chinese yam root used in TCM, which offers beautiful brown tones.

We design those pieces to support all your rituals. They are the perfect chabu for your tea ritual. You can also use it to compose your altar or as an oracle mat. These runners are filled with the healing power of the medicinal plants used to dye the fabrics, as well as the unconditional love of the Dong women for their craft. The energy of the fabric is thus very healing.

We offer two variations of runner, Guihua and Wuzong. Those pieces can also be simply used as table sets to create an elegant and refined table for your guests.

DYEING

All our garments are naturally dyed with medicinal plants in the mountains of Guizhou. At DEYI 德逸, we only use natural dyes and no chemicals, because we are committed to design while respecting Nature. Thus, our fabrics can present some differences of tone in their surface that depends on local meteorological conditions & on the way in which each artisan has worked the material.

Each fabric is unique: they are a testimony of several days of handmade work. Small imperfections in the weave or dyeing cannot be considered as defects. They are inherent to the artisanal character of our pieces. Imperfections means humans behind your pieces.

TRACEABILITY & SUSTAINABILITY

All our runners are handmade with care and love by our female artisans from the Dong indigenous community, according to ancestral gesture. They work in small remote villages in the province of Guizhou, in Rongjiang County. We invite you to read the moving stories of our artisans on our website.
