PHILOSOPHY

In Chinese poetry, 沐风 MUFENG means letting yourself be carried by the wind, being enveloped by the soft spring breeze that offers a wave of freshness and vitality. Our fluid MUFENG shirt, which allows superb freedom of movement, embodies this vital energy. In ancient China, we liked to say that when we enjoy a good time with men and women of letters, cultured and noble-minded - like Confucius - we were experiencing the feeling of MUFENG. Indeed, at their side, our spirit being solicited at all times, we were then surrounded by this dizzying feeling of vitality, permitted by this continuous breeze of knowledge and intellectual & spiritual stimulation.

This garment reflects perfectly of our values: the use of traditional fabrics to achieve contemporary silhouettes and shapes with an environmentally responsible approach. With very subtle Asian lines, this shirt has a special and attractive cut. Comfortable and lightweight, MUFENG shirt incarnates the elegance of simplicity.

DYEING

All our garments are naturally dyed with indigo leaves in the mountains of Guizhou. At DEYI 德逸, we only use natural dyes and no chemicals, because we are committed to design while respecting Nature. Thus, our fabrics can present some differences of tone in their surface that depends on local meteorological conditions & on the way in which each artisan has worked the material.

Each fabric is unique: they are a testimony of several days of handmade work. Small imperfections in the weave or dyeing cannot be considered as defects. They are inherent to the artisanal character of our pieces. Imperfections means humans behind your clothes.

TRACEABILITY & SUSTAINABILITY

All our cotton fabrics are made with care and love by our female artisans from the Dong indigenous community, according ancestral gesture. They work in small remote villages in the province of Guizhou, in Rongjiang County. We invite you to read the moving stories of our artisans on our website.

The final garment manufacturing is made in our sewing workshop in Beijing, China. You will find further information about our impact in our commitment section.
